Well, it is almost that time again. The 9th annual BEER Cruise is not far away.

The GRITSters met January 16, 2010 to determine this year's route and dates. The new official website is at http://www.beercruise.info (.info, not .com).

The route can be found at: http://www.beercruise.info/cruise-details.html

Ben, hope to get to meet you and others from SailingPensacola.com at the B.E.E.R. this year. I have been trying to make it for past 2 years, and something has come up so I didn't make it. I am going to make it this year. Do you like spiced libations? Captain Morgan and Coke, maybe? Jerry

Hi Jerry.

Definitely do your best to make it to the BEER Cruise; it is a great time. This year after the cruise is officially over, a few of us are going to extend the cruising for the rest of the week and anyone else is welcome to extend the cruise with us.

I do enjoy the spiced cocktail either mixed or on the rocks!

Hi Ben,

Have rum and will travel. Let's see...a couple extra days sailing after B.E.E.R...maybe another 1/2 gallon?

I am definitely in for the B.E.E.R. cruise and might stay on an extra day or two if I can work it out. My wife and son will probably start the B.E.E.R. cruise with me and then bail on Sunday.

Did I ever post a link here to my pics from last year? Hart's 2009 B.E.E.R. Cruise photos

Thanks for sharing that link to your pics... I suspect it is going to get folks all the more anxious for the cruise!

If you haven't heard the latest, the BEER route has changed due to concerns over the ICW being blocked by boom material protecting from the oil spill. They haven't blocked the ICW yet and chances are they won't, but the route has changed just to give everyone plenty of time to plan. Check out the official site at www.beercruise.info for the latest route.

Jerry, you still going to make it to BEER?

I'm sure I'll still see you there Brian.

I'm getting anxious and am ready for some fun in the sun!

I'm bummed. I was in Pensacola over Memorial Day weekend to bring my boat to PSMC ahead of the BEER cruise and visit my daughter who was visiting from Ct. This was going to be our first time overnighting on the boat. But the weather forecast for the BEER appears to be a little too dicey for our little craft so I've decided to pass. I was again looking forward to meeting everyone. I'm gonna keep trying. I want my first night on the water to be a little smoother than whats predicted. Hope to make go of it soon tho.

We had a GREAT time at the 2010 BEER Cruise. It was the first cruise we've taken on her, and she performed beautifully. As a matter of fact, she got her name on this trip....Windezvous. It came to me on our sail back from Sand Island (bonus day/night) to PSMC. We had been to a rendezvous in our boat powered by wind. I can't think of a more appropriate name for her. I knew it would come to us sooner or later, and I'm so glad it was on that trip that it did.
